In August, 2009, Sakai’s apartment was searched by police who found stimulants and issued a warrant for her arrest. While the name of the apartment building was not released, the the Asahi Shimbun Extra Report and Analysis (AERA) released the following description: Noriko Sakai’s residence on the 11th floor was approximately 110sqm, a 3-bedroom with walk-in closet and storage, and with an initial selling price at time of construction of 158 million Yen.
