Nomura Real Estate Development announced that they have the tender to re-build two adjacent condominium apartments in Shirokanedai, Minato-ku.
The two apartment buildings are:
– Shirokanedai Mansion, 1970, 91 units
– Crown Shirokanedai, 1983, 7 units
The project is called the “Shirokanedai 2 Chome Mansion Reconstruction Project.” The new 34 storey building will have 191 units.
The total cost of the project including land purchase, demolition and construction costs is estimated to be 10 billion Yen (122 million USD).
In 2010, a 28 storey residential building called “The Hilltop Tower Takanawadai” was completed. The units have now been sold. This building has been very popular with Asian buyers.
Both buildings will greatly improve the Takanawadai / Shirokanedai neighborhoods.
The site is only 3 minutes to Takanawadai Station, and also has access to Shinagawa and Gotanda Stations on the Yamanote Loop Line. There is also direct access to Haneda and Narita Airports.
For Shirokanedai Mansion, discussions about reconstruction began in 2003. 100% of the apartment owners agreed to the plans, and will receive units in the new building as compensation.
Construction is expected to start in January, 2012, with completion by October, 2014 (Update: The completion date has been extended until December, 2015). Sales of new units will begin in fall of 2012.
