The Location

The Akasaka address is one of Tokyo’s “3 A’s” (Akasaka, Aoyama and Azabu), which are the most desirable residential areas in the city.

The building is located at the top of the Hikawazaka Slope, which runs along the northern side of Hikawa Shrine, and is 24 meters above sea level. It fronts onto a tree-lined street that runs along the rear of the US Embassy housing compound.

From the early Meiji period, the elevated parts of the Akasaka area became home to a number of Daimyo mansions and other grand residences. The US Embassy housing compound was originally the estate of the Mitsui family, while the Bank of Japan currently maintains a large private guest-house 200 meters west of Park Mansion.

The developer, Mitsui, has a long history in the Akasaka area. When completed in 1975, Mitsui’s ‘Akasaka Park Mansion’ was the first condominium in Japan where all apartments were priced over 100 million Yen.
