The Roppongi Hills Residence is considered one of top addresses in Japan. It is part of the Roppongi Hills complex which includes the Roppongi Hills Mori Tower office building, the Grand Hyatt Hotel, TV Asahi and a selection of designer boutiques including Louis Vuitton and Armani at your doorstep. The residences are home to Japan’s top celebrities and CEOs.
The complex includes two high-rise towers – Residences B and C, a serviced apartment building (Residence D), and a low-rise residential building (Residence A). Of the 793 apartments in the complex, less than half are owned by private individuals, with the rest owned and available for rent-only through Mori Building. Residence C is 100% rental only, while Residences A, B and D have a mix of privately owned and rental-only units.
This is a 2-Bedroom corner apartment on the 6th floor (the top floor) in Residence A. It is north, east and south facing and includes two balconies. The land ownership share for this apartment is approximately 8 sqm.
The building is managed by Mori Building. A bilingual concierge desk is located in the lobby of Residences B and C.
The Roppongi Hills Tribe
The Roppongi Hills Tribe referred to IT and finance company directors with offices in Mori Tower and who had a residence in Roppongi Hills. The term also applied to celebrities and other high-profile residents of the building.
Roppongi Hills is very popular and well known amongst the expatriate and local community. Mori Corporation has always had a relatively high occupancy rate. Prior to the Lehman Shock in 2008, approximately 60% of the residents were foreigners. After the economy suffered a downturn, many foreign companies had cut staff or cut rental allowances so the ratio of foreign residents fell to 40%. At the same time, apartment rents had fallen to a level where it became a more accessible for Japanese and the ratio of Japanese residents grew to 60%.
